Welcome

Virginia A. Walton is the inventor of the rulers for the CREATIVE CURVES QUILTING SYSTEM, which substitutes curves for half-square triangles (circular curves) or half-rectangle triangles (oval curves). The following rulers have been designed by Virginia: the CREATIVE CURVES RULERS, the CREATIVE CURVES ELLIPSE RULERS, the KALEIDOSCOPE RULER, and the MULTI-ANGLE, WEDGE RULER. In addition there are numerous BOOKS, PATTERNS, and DVD’s that include patterns for the different rulers. The KALEIDOSCOE RULER will make KALEIDOSCOPE Blocks and Quilts (2" - 12" finished squares) in half the time using a unique pre-sewing technique for this traditional pattern. The MULTI-ANGLE, WEDGE RULER (MA-WR), like a protractor, cuts angles (from 5 – 60 degrees) and then the ruler shows the exact place to cut-off the extra fabric on the point of the angle, leaving a ‘wedge’ with the correct seam allowance. This provides the opportunity for sewing both the same angles as well as different angles together (eliminating the need to paper piece), the result is always having perfect points! Virginia designed and made the quilt, “2nd Star From The Right” for the International Quilt Festival for IQA in ‘07. As a lecturer and teacher, her specialties include easy sewing machine techniques (machine piecing curves without pins in particular) and color or fabric selection (how to combine fabric to create the effect desired in a quilt). As an international teacher, Virginia regularly teaches in the US, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Her original blocks and quilts are featured in many national and international quilt magazines.
